Staying ahead

The Keppel Land strategy meeting provided a platform for robust discussions among directors, management and key executives.

The Keppel Group has a distinct blend of core competencies and solutions to meet the world’s needs in sustainable urbanisation. Keppel Land will continue to provide quality properties in focused markets and harness the strengths of the Group for further growth, shared Mr Loh Chin Hua, Chairman of Keppel Land and CEO of Keppel Corporation, at Keppel Land’s strategy meeting on 15 August 2016.

Mr Loh said, “To be a leader in the property industry, we do not have to be the biggest player. Instead, we should aspire to be the developer with the highest return in Asia.”

Keppel Land’s return on equity is one of the highest among its peers at 18.9% per annum over the last 10 years from 2006 to 2015.

Mr Loh also urged Keppel Land to continue enhancing its value proposition to homebuyers, think beyond convention to create value for the Group, and work collaboratively as OneKeppel.

Mr Ang Wee Gee, CEO of Keppel Land, reiterated that the Company’s strategy and geographical diversification have served Keppel Land well. Despite the challenging global economic environment, Keppel Land has performed creditably, especially with the strengthening markets in China and Vietnam.

The strategy meeting, which was attended by directors, management and key executives from Keppel Corporation and Keppel Land, provided a timely platform to review the Company’s operations in various markets, track growth progress in the past year and recapture important lessons learnt.

During the meeting, directors and senior management emphasised the importance of attracting and developing talent, building a collaborative and innovative culture, and keeping abreast of new technologies to stay ahead of the curve.
